Home News Blessing of the Animals, Sept. 20 at Sunfield Farm

Sunday, September 20th is the East Jefferson County-wide “Blessing of the Animals” sponsored by the Ministerial Association.  The blessing will be hosted at Sunfield Farm at 3 pm. This event is being held in conjunction with the WSU sponsored Annual Farm Tour on the same weekend.

The Ministerial Association is planning to designate the food banks of East Jefferson County (Port Townsend, Port Hadlock, and Quilcene) as the beneficiaries of the Blessing. The Association invites folks to bring pet food to the Animal Blessing for the food banks as well as to give food for families.  Every day, families struggle to keep food on the table for their children and food in the bowl for their pets.  Too often, folks are forced to give up their beloved pets because they simply can’t afford to feed them.  Meanwhile, animal shelters struggle to feed the growing number of cats, dogs, and other animals in their care.

This event was arranged by the Reverend (Ms.) Dale Kelley (Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Retired) and Reverend Tanya Bennet.
