Starting Sat., October 26 through Mon., October 28, adoption fees for all adult black cats at Kitsap Humane Society are reduced to only $30 each, including spay/neuter surgery and a microchip.

“For some reason, black animals often tend to be adopted last,” said Executive Director Eric Stevens, “and we currently have over 30 black cats that need good homes.  We are grouping them together in our cattery this weekend and offering a special discount just for them.  We are asking the community to help find loving, caring homes for these animals.”

Kitsap Humane Society recently asked some of its adopters and volunteers who own black cats what they love about them.  Nancy said, “Mine has stripes when the sun hits her just right.  What I love about her most is her intense enthusiasm to the point where she’ll growl furiously when playing or climbing a tree!”  Lucy said, “Oh my gosh, we have three black kitties and love them for so many different reasons: their sleek coloring, their wonderful dispositions, their beautiful green eyes and so many more reasons than I can list here!”   Daphne said, “My black cat is simply sweet, loving and adorable.”  Dulcinea said, “Black cats are the BEST!”

KHS is open for adoptions this Saturday through Monday from noon to 5:30 each day.

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, non-profit charitable organization that has been caring for animals in need since 1908.  KHS admits almost 5,000 animals per year and has a 94% lives saved rate, one of the highest in the U.S.  KHS’ vision is that every adoptable companion animal has a home.  For more information, visit kitsap-humane.org  Rescue.
