Home Around Seattle Local artist holds charity auction to help bunnies

Local artist Rebecca Luncan is holding a personal auction on Facebook for a recent painting (December’s painting) and donating half of the proceeded to two local organizations, the Seattle Animal Shelter and Special Bunny Rescue. The auction will run from December 7th – 13th.
Luncan has exhibited her paintings in galleries and museums internationally and she is currently splitting her studio time between commissioned works and personal creative endeavors. Her current series of Rabbit Miniatures have been released to the public once a month, and the December painting will be the 9th in the series.
“All of the paintings have sold within 24 hours of being released and I’m hoping this one will meet with the same success and raise awareness, not only for me as an artist, but for both organizations that were instrumental in helping out my rabbits and their litter mates,” says Luncan.
Luncan has two house rabbits that are the muses for this series of paintings and you can read more about the rabbits, the impact these local shelters had on them and about the auction on Luncan’s blog.
“Both organization do so much to help these wonderful little creatures and their human families and I hope that I can make this little endeavor as successful as possible to help express my gratitude,” explains Luncan.
