Home Community Seattle Humane Society breaks adoption record

Seattle Humane Society found homes for 704 pets in August – a record-breaking high for the most pets adopted in a single month in the shelter’s 115-year history.

The record-breaking month started with Seattle Humane’s Catapalooza adoption extravaganza, in which adoption fees were waived on all cats one year and older, and a $50 adoption fee offered for kittens. The event was a smashing success with the presence of cat behaviortist Jackson Galaxy drawing in crowds by the hundreds to the shelter in Bellevue.

With a combination of creative promotions, dedicated staff, foster parents and volunteers – and our supportive animal-loving community – August 2013 is Seattle Humane Society’s most successful month on record!
