The Vegan Haven grocery on the corner of 55th & University Way NE has recently expanded into the neighboring storefront. The normally packed boutique grocery is a source for all things vegan including food, treats, ice cream and pet supplies.
Upon re-opening of the store after a renovation, Eric Lagally was the first customer of the morning and was surprised to find the store had literally doubled in size.
“It’s an awesome opportunity to better serve the vegan community and Pigs Peace Sanctuary by offering more vegan goodies in a much more shopper-friendly space.” says Vegan Haven store manager, Demarie Werth.
Now with double the space comes the opportunity to offer more products.
“We are already carrying new products, but we plan on adding more with every passing week,” explains Werth. “The list of staples, like frozen vegetables and teas, will grow along with specialty items, including treats from Violet Sweet Shoppe and Rescue Chocolates. We’re also adding to our personal care and gift items, as well as treats for our furry friends.”
Werth explains that Judy Woods, director of the Pigs Peace Sanctuary, had wished to expand the store for sometime. With the exit of neighboring storefront tenants, Vegan Haven got a chance to grow into a roomy and even more well-stocked grocery.
