Last week, the Washington State ag-gag bill (HB1104) was heard before the House Public Safety committee.  You can watch those proceeding here.

A coordinated effort by the The Humane Society of the United States, The Humane League and many other animal rights, workers rights, and environmental rights groups spoke out against the bill. Eighteen testimonies were given, all against the bill.  In fact, other than the sponsors of the bill, NO other groups (including farm groups) spoke in favor of the bill.

Legislators on the committee said they were inundated with calls and emails against the bill.

The bill is not expected to make it out of committee, but advocates are always watching for such an occurrence.
